Code

of conduct

1. Purpose

This Code of Conduct sets out the standards of behaviour expected of Chamber of Mines of Zimbabwe members, their representatives, event participants, and website users. It supports responsible mining that benefits Zimbabwe's economy, workers, communities, and environment.

2. Compliance with Laws & Regulations

Members shall comply with all applicable Zimbabwean laws and regulations, including the Mines and Minerals Act and associated mining, labour, tax, environmental, and foreign-exchange legislation, and shall cooperate with the relevant authorities and inspectorates.

3. Safety, Health & Environment

Members shall uphold the highest standards of occupational safety and health, protect the environment in and around mining operations, support mine rescue readiness, and work towards zero harm across the industry.

4. Business Integrity

Members shall conduct business honestly and transparently, reject bribery and corruption in all forms, avoid conflicts of interest, compete fairly, and maintain accurate books and records.

5. Labour Practices & Community Relations

Members shall respect workers' rights, engage constructively with unions and employee representatives, invest in skills development, and maintain respectful, mutually beneficial relationships with surrounding communities.

6. Reporting & Accountability

Suspected breaches of this Code may be reported to the Chamber secretariat at info@chamines.co.zw. Reports will be treated confidentially. Serious or repeated breaches may lead to review of membership standing in line with the Chamber's constitution and governance procedures.
